Old hat new hat

mad hatters

Colour version of a flyer I was asked to draw for the Astronauts, one of a weekend full of gigs organised by Rhythms of the World in place of the festival this year. Great line-up too!

Owl City

June 4, 2012

Here’s a poster to promote a local gig in aid of Hitchin’s own wonderful festival Rhythms of the World.  This benefit has a nicely diverse bill of indie, roots, country-rock and electro ambience, what better way to illustrate it than a girl dancing with an owl?

Actually I fancied drawing an owl for a while, after seeing an animation in which an owl chick thought it was a duckling and went following the mother duck into the water. This one is having a happier time.

Get your skates on

June 6, 2010

Whoops, I forgot to post any pictures last week, but to make up for that here’s a poster of a giraffe on skates.

In other news, I went to the London Zine Symposium last week and sold some comics. It was a bit of a sleepy day for me but I was pleased to see some friends and acquaintances who popped by my table. I’m not sure when my next fair will be, I think I need to draw some new comics so I can get excited about selling them again! I bought/swapped/was given a few good reads including Jimi Gherkin’s smart new comic on playing his first gigs on the open mic circuit, Saban ‘Shabs’ Kazim’s funny new zine on searching for a job, Gavin Burrows’ latest collection of articles from his Lucid Frenzy blog, and a cool mixed zine called The Antagonist. Look out for them!

Come to the club and share a drink…

… and raise some money for our local festival of international music, Rhythms of the World. The benefit gig takes place on Saturday April 17th. There won’t be any milk, or lizards, or indeed babies, as the gig is age 16+. But there will be some music.

I’m not sure where I got the idea for this flyer, it’s been in a sketchbook for years!
