Here’s a new poster I was asked to create for a local gig, the latest from the cottage industry that is Cupboard Music. As you can see I had some fun with the name of the main band. I’d originally considered really emphasising the name and designing a purely typographic poster, but decided that probably wasn’t why I’d been asked to do the design… and also it was looking a bit too ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’. So I added some characters acting like the animals in question, as I did with the poster for the last time this band played the venue (here). This should be a great gig, too!
Here are a couple of recent gig flyers. The animals just want to say hello… (originally, the shark was going to be posing with a standard lamp, but it didn’t seem fit the composition – and wouldn’t work underwater)
You may notice there are bears listed on both these posters, but no bears in the pictures.
